Many Xbox and PS3 users faced an error saying "Join Failed Failure:Incompatible Data" while connecting Max Payne 3 Multiplayer through their gaming consoles. It sounds like a bug as developer team is also not aware of the exact reason of this and they are working on the same. but they have revealed some steps that will help you to fix this problem and this works for sure because even i fixed mine with those steps. Hence would like share here, just follow the below steps:
- First of all if you are trying to connect with the player whose console is unpatched yet with the Max Payne 3 Multiplayer Patch, you will likely get this problem. Hence make sure that you poth have installed the patch (around 11 MB).
- Second fix is whenever you get the said error, simply come back to the Main menu and click on Multiplayer. Try to connect again. you wont be getting the error. It works most of the times.
- If you still getting the "Incompatible Data" error, simply reset your console. Restart the game and connect Multiplayer mode.
